- Intended for use on grades of nuclei with 1-2 hardness divided using Karate/Phaco Prechop technique, in which the nucleus is prechopped into 4 or more sections before introducing the phaco handpiece.
- Harder nuclei or nuclei with weak ciliary zonules should be prechopped very carefully and supported with a nucleus sustainer to reduce the stress on the ciliary zonules.
- This technique reduces ultrasound time by minimizing the conventional grooving method.
- The movement of the phaco tip is minimized and mechanical and thermal damage to the wound is reduced by dividing the nucleus beforehand.
- Maximum opening of 3.0 mm at the site of incision.
